 Offensive Line Penalty Stats
This was brought up in another thread. I could not find any official stats, but I downloaded the official game book for each game and counted the penalties for each O-lineman. These numbers include both accepted and declined penalties.
............Holding.....False Start Starks_____5_________2 Kemo______6_________1 Hartwig____3_________0 Essex______1_________4 Colon______4_________3
Miller chipped in for 4 holding calls and Spaeth had 1. Kemo also got flagged for an illegal hands to the face. I didn't feel the need to create a whole separate column for 1 penalty.

I'd ask to see Willie "Mr. Offsides" Colon's checkbook. I'd bet he paid Essex to take a few FS's for him.

 Re: Offensive Line Penalty Stats
Thanx PumpNIron - I brought it up on another thread.
I was very surprised the Colonator only had 7 total penalties.
If there were a stat that tallied when a big play (10+ yds, 3rd down conversion, etc) was negated by an O-line penalty, I betcha about 5 of Colon's were responsible for that.

 Re: Offensive Line Penalty Stats
This can't be right, the colon only had 3 false starts the entire year???????????? He had one every game.

 Re: Offensive Line Penalty Stats
I agree that the numbers look really low. So I went back and double checked. Here are the penalties by game. Where the first digit = Holding and second digit = False Start. Again, these are from the official NFL game books at NFL.com

 Re: Offensive Line Penalty Stats
Might want to check "sacks allowed". I see only 30 total & Ben was on his back 50 times. Maybe Shar & MMoore were responsible for the other 20???

My guess is the remainder where the one where Big Ben watched the lb or db walk up to the line of scrimmage but failed to call it out to the line resulting in an untouched lane of travel for the sack. They may also not credit a lineman with a sack after the qb sits in the pocket for 6 seconds.
