That article was awesome. Especially the part about the Stillers O vs. the Cardinals D deciding the outcome. I also liked how you stated Big Ben was able to overcome late defensive lapses in the 4th quarter. (with a terrible O-line I might add)
Easterbrook and several others reached this conclusion as well...before we go off ball-washing writers on this site.
Easterbrook had it in his column the week leading up to the Super Bowl.
Here's his article...a full SIX DAYS before PalmerSucks posted his article. Imagine that!
http://sports.espn.go.com/espn/page2/st ... ortCat=nflAnd it wasn't so much the defense collapsing (although they did do so in the AFCDG and the Super Bowl- the AFCCG was a case of piss-poor offense keeping a beaten Ravens team in the game- and the defense bailed the team out with troy's clinching pick) during the regular season as it was the offense fiddle-fucking for most of the game before putting it together late.
In many games, the offense had the opportunity to salt the game away, and rarely ever did.
Unless you expect the defense to hold teams to 7 points/game?
